The government of Saint Petersburg at today's session has approved a bill about the target program "Prophylaxis and treatment of an arterial hypertension" for 2003-2005 years. The cost of the program - 120 million roubles. It is created for strengthening of material base in establishments of public health services, and also for propagation of a healthy living.
30% of the population in Saint Petersburg suffers from an arterial hypertension. In city on Neva the number of people recived a heart attack has increased for last seven years on 20%. At the same time for the same period in Russia there are only 7% of such patients.
