In the framework of the program on reconstruction of the historical holidays, developed in museum - reserve "Peterhof", August, 31 on the Big cascade Samson Holiday will be held. The purpose of cultural restoration - revival of celebratory traditions in the old imperial capital.
Samson Day is devoted to one of the most well-known fountains of Peterhof. Sculpture group "Samson" was founded on Charles Rastrelli's model in honour of a 25-anniversary from the date of the Poltava victory of Russian armies above Swedes in Northern war. Children will become the main guests of a holiday - on squares at the Big cascade and Chess mountain there will be entertaining programs in performance of actors from the best theatres. In future Samson Day will be marked annually - as last carefree holiday before school weekdays.
