One of organizers of this grandiose project – German firm “Herrenknecht AG”. This company is one of the biggest in the world supplier of tunnel equipment. On the meeting of the Saint Petersburg Governor Vladimir Jakovlev and the President of “Herrenknecht AG” Jean Claud Ame some details of the project were considered and dates of concordance of financial plan were discussed.
The tunnel will be built in the range of Orlovskaja street and Piskarevsky prospect. There three-lane highway for motor transport and footway will be built. There is already some experience of creation of such tunnels under the Neva. In the framework of project of the Baltic pipe-line system on the depth more than 10 meters below the river floor the pipe-line of reinforced concrete constructions of 777 meters in length was built.
