Federation Council Speaker Sergei Mironov was once again elected representative of the St. Petersburg legislature in the Federation Council, Russia's upper house of parliament. Mironov was the only nomination for this post and was backed by 43 of the 48 deputies. "I thank those who did and did not back my nomination, as this encourages me to work even better," Mironov told the deputies.
