Holy Relic of St. Andrew arrives to St. Petersburg from Greece

Kazan cathedral where the holy relic will be recieved. The holy relic of St. Andrew arrives to St. Petersburg from Greece on May 25. Vladimir, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, will receive the holy relic in the Kazan cathedral.

On May 26, the holy relic of apostle Andrew will remain in the Kazan cathedral for the worshipers. On the same day, at 18 p.m. Vladimir, Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga, and clergy will start the vigil.

On May 27, at 9 a.m. the relic will be delivered to St. Isaac’s Cathedral, where at 9 a.m. the liturgy will start. At noon the sacred procession will move from the Cathedral to the Palace Square. Cathedrals and churches of the city will take part in the procession with the icons of local saints.

From May 28 till June 3 the holy relic of apostle Andrew will stay in Alexander-Nevsky Lavra,in St. Andrew’s Cathedral.On June 3 the holy relic will be taken to Valaam.

The residents and guests of the city are welcome to visit all the festivities. The entrance to the Kazan and St. Isaac’s Cathedrals is absolutely free.
