The International Military and Naval Salon 2003 has been opened at the Lenexpo exhibition center in Saint Petersburg today. This was announced by the local committee on economic development and trade. The event is being held in Russia for the first time and will be dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the city. The event has been organized by the Russian shipbuilding agency and the Russian Defense Ministry.

21 different countries will participate including Great Britain, Germany, Bulgaria, the US and Turkey. 50 different foreign companies intend to participate in total and 256 Russian enterprises. An exhibition entitled History of military shipbuilding in Russia will also be on show at the Central Naval Museum.
