On the 5 of July started The First World Championship for water-motor Sports “24 hours of Saint-Petersburg”. The races for fortitude on the inflatable boats provided with outboard motors passed by the Peter & Paul Cathedral along Neva and Kronverskiy Canal. It is the only kind of technique sport competition in Russia that runs unlimitedly for 24 hours. 5 boat classes classified by the length of corpus and engine power took part in the marathon. In the competitions took part Russian, Belgian, Estonian, Austrian and Ukrainian sportsmen. The race finished on the 6 of July.
