Prince of Wales presented Adventurer yacht to the Russian Baltic fleet as a gift from the British royal fleet on the 300th anniversary of Saint Petersburg.
Yesterday Prince Charles also the Piskarevskoye memorial cemetery and paid his respects to those who died during the Leningrad blockade by laying a wreath at the memorial monument. The crew of the St. Albans ship of the British navy, which arrived in St. Petersburg for the time of Prince Charles' visit, also participated in the ceremony. The crewmen of the ship were present at the ceremony as guards of honour.
The heir to the British throne, also visited the children's ecological centre at the St Petersburg Vodokanal enterprise.
The entertainment part of the program included the visit to the Menshikov Palace. The Prince saw the museum's exposition and visited the ballroom.
The previous night Prince Charles visited the State Hermitage where he saw the collections of one of the world's largest art and history museums and attended a concert by leading performers of the Mariinsky Theatre.
