ST. PETERSBURG, September 10. The Balashikhinsky Oxygen Factory, which is a subsidiary of Swedish company AGA, launched a factory for production of liquid carbon dioxide at a factory in Leningrad Region yesterday. Balashikhinsky Oxygen Factory Sales Director Igor Pistsov told Rosbalt that the planned production capacity of the factory is 300 tonnes of carbon dioxide per month. Production will take place on the territory of the Kirishsky Biochemical Factory. The cost of the equipment for the new factory is estimated at approximately USD 2 million. Carbon dioxide conforms to the food industry including beer brewing, production of soft drinks, and in industry for the welding of metals.
In 2000 AGA joined the German company Linde, which produces refrigerating equipment, equipment for chemicals and petrochemistry and gas products. AGA has representative offices in more than 50 countries worldwide. In Russia AGA is represented by Balashikhinsky Oxygen Factory with branch offices in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad.
