The first ever permanent information centre for Iranian goods and services opened in Saint Petersburg yesterday. The centre is aimed at developing ties between the two countries and raising the level of Iranian goods exported to Russia. This was announced by Deputy Iranian Trade Minister Mojtaba Khasro Taj at the opening ceremony. He said that 'Iranian companies have experience and may compete on the Russian oil and gas market' as well as develop Russian-Iranian collaboration in the areas of waste disposal and treatment.
Trading house Irlen will be responsible for the centre's work, a founder of which is the Iranian company Export & Development Intergroup company. The trading house is a member of the Leningrad regional chamber of trade and commerce, which took part in the opening ceremony of the centre. The chamber of trade and commerce, together with Irlen, will organise bilateral talks between Iranian and Russian companies interested in creating joint enterprises in the Leningrad Region.
