A presentation of the North-West Federal District of Russia will take place in Italy on 3-6 November. According to the Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary to the North-West Federal District Liubov Sovershayeva the presentation which was held in Germany last year proved to be quite effective and they have decided to repeat the idea in Italy.

'The presentation will have the motto Russia, Open to the World. 300 Years of Saint Petersburg,' she said. There will be a number of roundtable discussions in Milan on these days devoted to the prospects of the metallurgical, timber and tourist industries in the north-west of Russia. The presentation will begin on November 4 with an introduction to all the regions of the district. Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre Valery Gergiev will also give a speech in Milan on this day. Ms Sovershayeva stressed that the presentation had been specifically scheduled just before Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in Italy on an official visit. She added that all the regional leaders from the district and representatives of leading industrial enterprises are planning to take part at the presentation.
