Veneto region of Northern Italy presented a Venetian gondola to the city. The gondola will be kept in the SS. Peter and Paul Fortress. Build in 1994, it was made according to the Venetian technology taking into consideration all technical and decorative features. It is 10,75 metres in length, 1,42 metres in width of the central part, 350 kg in hull’s weight, and 500 kg in weight of the hull and equipment. Gondola is made of several types of finewood. The Consul General of Italy Marco Ricci, members of of the St. Petersburg Government, director of the Museum of St. Petersburg’s History Boris Arakcheev participated participated in the ceremony of handing over the gondola.
