First IKEA store opened in Saint-Petersburg

IKEA store IKEA Kudrovo, with a total area of 31 thousand square metres and a car park with 2,400 spaces, will open on December 12. Along with the store itself you may also visit the restaurant offering Swedish cuisine open within the store and the trade and leisure complex that is built alongside the store, as is traditionally the case with IKEA stores in Russia. In total USD 45 million has been invested in this project.

The store has around 450 employees, all of which have undergone the necessary training. Staff and visitors are transported to IKEA Kudrovo by special minibuses which run at 15 minute intervals from the Ulitsa Dybenko metro station.

IKEA has been in Russia for three and a half years and in this time two stores have opened near Moscow and USD 400 million has been invested. There will be 6 stores in Moscow and 3 in Saint Petersburg. There will also be IKEA stores in 12-13 other Russian cities.
