Deputies in the Legislative Assembly have passed the third reading of a law that will allow citizens to have a role in city planning.

The law creates a standard procedure for obtaining information about city planning, its evaluation by the community and the participation of citizens in city planning decisions, the agency said.

Citizens will have the right to take part in public hearings on city planning matters and information must be available in text and graphic forms to people living near proposed construction sites. Individuals' views will be taken into account in accordance with the federal law on city planning, the report said.
