The Tass officials led by Director General Vitaly Ignatenko will gather at Galernaya St, 24, the building that used to accommodate the St.Petersburg Telegraph Agency, the precursor to Itar-Tass. It began operation on September 1, 1904.
The Itar-Tass board then will meet at the historical building of St.Petersburg's Institute of Mining on the Vasilyevsky island. Rector of St.Petersburg State Mining University Vladimir Litvinenko will address the Tass officials.
Presidential envoy to the Northwestern Federal District Ilya Klebanov and St.Petersburg governor Valentina Matviyenko are expected to take part in the meeting.
Itar-Tass Director General Vitaly Ignatenko will hand in laudatory diplomas for active and fruitful cooperation with Itar-Tass, as well as souvenirs to the editors-in-chief of St.Petersburg newspapers Vesti, Metro and Nevskoye Vremya.
The board will discuss the mass media's work in the Northwestern Federal District and its coverage in Russian news programs.
Separately, the Itar-Tass executives will discuss specifics of the news agency's work to highlight Russia's presidential election campaign.
