St. Petersburg travelers on the new Tallink ferry coursing between Helsinki, Tallinn and St. Petersburg will not be able to take their cars with them. The Russian authorities postponed loading of cars onto the Fantaasia ferry until April 10.
Igor Glukhov, general director of Inflot - Tallink's Russian agent - said the delay is due to a demand by the border guard service to change the checkpoint leading to boarding. Border guard concerns over the checkpoint only became known on the eve of the route's grand opening on April 1.
