The designers of the tourism development stategy in St. Petersburg have it in mind to make the city a competitor with Vienna, Paris and London for tourists' attention.
The tourism development concept for the next 10 years will be ready by September 2004, according to the vice-president and director of the Moscow office of the Boston Consulting Group (BŃG) Stephen Dertnig.
BCG won the tender organized by the Ministry for Economic Development of Russia among consulting firms. Stephen Dertnig said the strategy’s idea was to make the St. Petersburg tourism market compete not with Moscow, but with other world famous tourist capitals.
BCG will soon sign a contract with the Ministry for Economic Development of Russia, and starting from mid-May BCG will work on the tourism development strategy of St. Petersburg.
