The capacity of Toyota's plant in St. Petersburg will be increased to 200,000 automobiles per year, St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Mastvienko said at the second Russian- Chinese investment forum on Thursday.

"Production at the Toyota car plant will be increased to 200,000 automobiles per year," she said, adding that this investment project is one of the most important being implemented in St. Petersburg.

Deputy Governor Mikhail Osievsky said that the change in the initial production plan comes after a study of experience at the Ford plant in Leningrad region, and also demand for Toyota vehicles
