The 'Tomchei Tmimim Chabad Lubavitch' Yeshiva of S. Petersburg has launched a new program targeting youths from the ninth through eleventh grades. This project entails organizing and taking the youth on excursions to Jewish sites and the 'youth café', where these boys will have the opportunity to enjoy free conversation and to engage in lively discussions on a variety of themes.
This new initiative is being carried out under the guidance of the yeshiva’s Director, Chaim Tolochinsky, and another Chabad Lubavitch emissary serving at the yeshiva, Rabbi Shmuel Saminsky.
The boys will enjoy a real Chassidic farbrengen every Thursday, as well as participating in Shabbat ceremonies and Saturday studies at the yeshiva. Once a month, participants in the program will also attend lectures delivered by Rabbis Tolochinksky and Saminsky. Teachers will also hold 'chevruta' sessions, which entail reading Torah and commentaries in pairs. The young men will also study Talmud, Shulchan Aruch and other books on Chassidism.
The 'Tomchei Tmimim Chabad Lubavitch' Yeshiva is one of hundreds of institutions belonging to the Ohr Avner educational network spanning the former Soviet republics.
