Social council of Saint Petersburg steps forward with an idea of nominating Saint Petersburg as a candidate in housing summer Olympiad 2016.

G. Orlov, who is a TV commentator and a member of Social council of Saint Petersburg, says that lately Olympic spot perspectives of Saint Petersburg are being discussed in different sport sections.

The idea of nominating Saint Petersburg was already approved by vice-governor S. Tarasov and chairman of city sport committee V. Chazov. «Now we want to come with this proposal to the governor – V. Matvienko, if she approves our initiative, then we’ll initiate all formalities”, said Orlov.
