Gudsi Osmanov, Azerbaijanís Consul General to Saint Petersburg has met with Yuri Buryak, Chief of the Federal Migration Service Saint Petersburg Department, a source in the Azerbaijan Consulate General has told Trend today.
During the meeting, the development of the constructive relations established between the Consulate general and the Migration Service. The Azerbaijani Consul General touched upon issues connected with the situation over the temporary and permanent registration of Azerbaijani citizens, and pointed out that the Consulate renders constant legal aid in solving them. During the discussion of issues connected with the registration of Azerbaijani citizens in Russian Federation, accepting permission on the temporary and permanent residency, deportation, Mr. Buryak told that though there are many Azerbaijanis both in Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, only few number of their violating the Russian legislation have been registered. The main problem is that Azerbaijani citizens who reached 13-14 (years old) do not have either IDs or passports on them, however, that is quite legally and in accordance with the Azerbaijani legislation.
The Consul General proposed to the Russian party to send Georgian citizens of Azerbaijani origin deported from Russia just via Azerbaijan, not Armenia.
Elena Donayeva, Chief of the Legal Service Department of the Federal Migration Service Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, and Akif Gasimov, Executive Director of National Cultural Autonomy of Azerbaijanis in Saint Petersburg took part in the meeting as well.
