The economic forum in St. Petersburg is often dubbed as the “Russian Davos” and Russia wants to develop it into a bridge between St. Petersburg and the World Economic Forum in Davos, St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko told Tass on Thursday commenting on the signing of a memorandum on the participation of the World Economic Forum in the St. Petersburg event.
“The cooperation has been formalized. We have completed the process by the signing of the document and will develop constructive cooperation,” she said.
Davos forum founder Klaus Schwab told Tass “the forum in St. Petersburg has won high prestige in the world. I am looking forward to our cooperation with the forum in St. Petersburg”.
Schwab, who signed the memorandum with Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref, said both parties would work to ensure the participation of major company heads in the St. Petersburg forum in summer.
