Scottish days in St. Petersburg

scotland 4-8 February are the days of Scotland in St. Petersburg. Activities devoted to Scotland are held regularly and considered one of the brightest events of the city life.

The Scottish days in St. Petersburg are traditionally linked with the end of the blockade in Leningrad and the birth date of the famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. As Scotchmen admit, nowhere else in the world people are as well-familiar with works of Robert Burns as in Russia.

In the framework of the Scottish days it is planned to hold a festive evening in the Shuvalovsky palace. Besides, a series of exhibitions is planned to be organized in the Russian national library, including the exhibition called "Scotland and Scotchmen", telling about history and culture of the country.
