The largest Russian air company Aeroflot plans to build a special hotel for transit passengers near Pulkovo Airport of St. Petersburg. Recently, the St. Petersburg government and Aeroflot have signed a cooperation agreement that implies development of air transportation and tourism in St. Petersburg and providing international, business, and cultural relations.
Aeroflot has taken an obligation to use only modern Airbus aircraft on flights between Moscow and St. Petersburg and to widen the flights geography. Also the cooperation includes building a 4-star economy-class hotel with 250-500 rooms for transit passengers. The hotel has been estimated at $US15-20 million.
