Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent messages to the leaders of the CIS member countries with an invitation to attend the 12th St. Petersburg Economic Forum due on June 6-8, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday, adding that the Russian leader also offered them to arrange an informal CIS summit on the sidelines of the forum.
This year, the forum will focus on the national economic interests and global management institutions, the message runs, adding that another topic of the forum will be entitled “Analysis of the Russian Economy – Global Challenges and Possibilities in the Period up to 2020.”
Participants in the forum will also be able to take part in expert discussions on a wide range of crucial issues, the Kremlin press service said.
During an informal summit, Putin proposed the presidents of the CIS member countries to continue the exchange of views, which was started in Moscow on February 22, on the formation of the CIS economic development concept, humanitarian issues, guidelines the CIS development, as well as other matters of common interest, including preparations for the next CIS summit due in Bishkek on September 26.
