A Tu-154 aircraft bound for Salonika in Greece with 135 passengers on board safely landed at Pulkovo airport in St. Petersburg after a technical failure, an airport official said on Tuesday.
"The plane has returned to the airport and landed safely. Another flight is being prepared to accommodate the passengers," the official said.
The crew of the plane, which belongs to the state-run Rossiya Airlines, discovered a malfunction in one of the plane's three hydraulic systems shortly after take off and requested an emergency landing at the airport.
