"Stars of the White Nights" Festival is opening in St. Petersburg

whitenightsfestival "Stars of the White Nights" Festival is opening in St. Petersburg. Playbill of the festival, which represents a kind of musical tour of the various epochs and styles, is including more than a hundred performances and concerts.

There will perform the first magnitude stars - Anna Netrebko, Maria Guleghina, Violetta Urmana, Rene Pape, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Vladimir Galuzin, Olga Borodina, Ildar Abdrazakov, Diana Vishneva and Svetlana Zakharova , Ulyana Lopatkina, Leonid Sarafanov.

In the Mariinsky Concert Hall will play a veteran instrumentalists: violinist Leonidas Kavakos and pianists Rudolf Buchbinder, Lang Lang, Denis Matsuev, Mogilevsky dynasty.

The main event in ballet playbill will be a return of "Shurale"staged by Leonid Jacobson. In the Concert Hall will be an opera rarities: "The castle of Duke Bluebeard" Bela Bartok and ambitious "Les Troyens" by Hector Berlioz, under the baton of Valery Gergiev.

In a large German section of the festival - the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Christian Thielemann, Berlin Philharmonic Octet orchestra, choir and orchestra of the Schleswig-Golshteynsky festival with the performance of Handel oratorio "Alexander Festivities."

A festival will be opened with "The Little Humpbacked Horse" ballet. Conductor- maestro Valery Gergiev.
