Large-scale reconstruction, officially launched in the Summer Garden on Monday, will be the first in the past 200 years. During the restoration work is planned to restore the famous lattice fence and renew the garden greenery (36 dead and 35 sick trees will be cut down and planted new ones), to build a small greenhouses and make copies of the sculpture garden. The sculptures will betaken to the museum's warehouse.
The cost of the Summer Garden restoration is valued at 2.3 billion rubles. Ending of restoration is planned by early 2012.
