In St. Petersburg will be opened the second mosque soon. Construction of a new Muslim temple is holding in the Primorsky region in Kolomyagy - the Repischeva street.
The opening of the mosque is scheduled on July 16.
Draft building was designed by architect Rashat Ahmethanov. Construction was started in summer 2006. Petersburg Muslims had been sought permission for the erection of a mosque since 2000.
The height of minarets will be 40 meters.
At the new temple will be opened Islamic Institute. It will prepare specialists in theology and religious leaders. Institute are receiving a license now. It is expected to open the doors to its first students (about 30 people) at the beginning of the new school year. The institute plans to teach the Koran, the foundation of Islam, Arabic language and other subjects.
