The Commander-in Chief of the Russian Navy and his Dutch counterpart have discussed combatting pirates in the Gulf of Aden. Meeting in St. Petersburg, Admiral Viktor Chirkov and Vice Admiral Matthieu Borsboom agreed to exchange both information and experience, aiming to prevent pirates from attacking commercial ships, a spokesman for the press service of the Russian Navy said today. Agreement has been reached on the holding of staff talks and on the realization of events provided by the Plan for the Exchange Russia - the Netherlands Year. Russian warships will take part in the festivities on the occasion of the 525th anniversary of the Dutch Navy.
