The Courage Marathon will be organized in Saint Petersburg on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia on 2 April. The motto of the marathon will be “Russia and Belarus: common history and common future”, BelTA learnt from the press service of the city administration. The event will be held in the Yubileiny sports complex. Taking part in it will be representatives of the Saint Petersburg administration, the Saint Petersburg Branch of the Belarusian Embassy, Belarusian public associations, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, school children, students of military schools, musicians from Belarus and Russia. A big fair of Belarusian products will be arranged in front of the Yubileiny sports complex. A solemn gathering and a concert featuring Belarusian and Russian performers will be held at the Saint Petersburg State Cappella Choir the same day. Cooperation with Belarus has always been top on the international agenda of Saint Petersburg, the press service informed. “Our peoples welcome this day, because it celebrates the long-standing brethren ties, common history and culture, common desire to expand the all-round cooperation. We are happy that Saint Petersburg and the Republic of Belarus have developed intensive and efficient cooperation,” the press service quoted Leningrad Oblast Governor Grigory Poltavchenko.
