The St.Petersburg International Economic Forum is being held in St.Petersburg between June 20th and 22nd. The Voice of Russia's correspondents interview a wide range of experts giving their take on economic issues and results of the forum. Saint-Petersburg’s International Forum is a major event in the context of cooperation between Russian companies, Russian authorities and foreign companies. Of course, I foresee more or less the same level of discussions, the same level of agreements and deals which will be finalized on this panel. I think for Russia it's very significant to identify the direction - I mean what kind of vehicles Russia would like to use in order to improve economic growth or to move to the state-regulated companies and some public funds used for development or to pay more attention to the private initiatives, small businesses' and medium-sized companies' initiatives and to support these companies through the fair regulation, maybe with some financial support, in order to create sustainable growth. And the second agenda – I'm not sure that this will be a very significant part of this forum activity, but it's some sort of political issue which I mentioned previously – Russia has to identify political interests, not just like an isolated country, but political interests of a country which is part of global system, taking into account there's big difference in interests as usual. But without cooperation it's very difficult, it's difficult to be alone in this system. Russia needs some cooperation with Western countries, with Asian countries, not just in the economic area, but in the political area also.
