In St. Petersburg handed the international awards "Baltic Star" — for development and strengthening of cultural ties in the countries of the Baltic region. The XII ceremony of delivery took place on October 8 at the Hermitage theatre In 2015 the actor Lembit Ulfsak (Estonia), the writer Janusz Leon Vishnevsky (Poland), the conductor and the artistic director of the State academic chapel of St. Petersburg Vladislav Chernushenko (Russia) became winners of an award. In the nomination "Memory" the award is awarded to the director, the people's artist of the Russian Federation Aleksei German (1938-2013) and to the director, the honoured worker of arts of the Russian Federation Vadim Fisson (1962-2014). In the nomination "For Support of Culture" the award was handed to Charity foundation of Mikhail Prokhorov. The award notes merits of artists and culture, representatives of the creative intellectuals, an official and business community on the establishment and development of cultural ties between the countries, in the strengthening of friendship and mutual understanding between the people. Among winners of an award in different years there were Mikhail Piotrovsky, Alexander Sokurov, Valery Gergiev, Daniil Granin, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Zanussi, Oleg Basilashvili, Barbara Brylska, Donatas Banionis, Daniel Olbrykhsky, Lev Dodin.
