Opening a calendar of fashionable events of St. Petersburg in 2016, from April 7 to April 10, under patronage of Fashion Syndicate St. Petersburg, with assistance of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Government of St. Petersburg official St. Petersburg Fashion week – Fall/Winter 2016-2017 season starts. Every year becoming more and more significant and recognized sign fashion of events in a world calendar, along with Paris, Milan, London and New York, SPbFW shows new seasonal collections and carries out an educational program. Official St. Petersburg Fashion week long ago beyond the city of St. Petersburg on the geography of the participating designer and the professional status, becomes, perhaps, the major event and the main core of the professional fashion-industry of Russia.
Mission of the St. Petersburg Fashion week — to develop the industry of fashion in Russia, using the opportunities, to carry out support and to advance talented Russian designers, to carry out educational programs for professional audiences and to represent the best brands of world fashion on a podium.
As before St. Petersburg Fashion Week will pass on the New scene of Alexandrinsky Theatre, which by right is considered the most technically equipped, and advanced theatrical platforms of Russia which doesn't have analogs in Europe. The strategic partnership of the St. Petersburg Syndicate of Fashion and the New scene of Alexandrinsky Theatre will allow to carry out the synthesis of the modern art and fashion in unique interactive dialogue with the viewer.
In a new season of the St. Petersburg Fashion Week will present to a collection of the leading Russian and foreign designers, including independent, young and perspective debuts, presents successful commercial brands and eminent international guests. Geography of the countries of the participating designer: Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Montenegro and France.
Traditionally, within a Fashion week there will pass the educational program, the professional presentations, round tables and press conferences of designers, and the evening action which is also closing a season of Fall/Winter 2016-2017. In the forthcoming season guests of St.Petersburg Fashion Week will be able to plunge into the world of fashion, and also through a dancing prism of the St. Petersburg choreographer, and in the intervals between displays to enjoy music thanks to DJs from London, Germany and Estonia.
Within SPbFW more than 20 collections will be shown, and after her termination the showroom for about one Fashion weeks from the most significant and central trading floors of the city for designer clothes will traditionally open. Already the second season, thanks to a joint initiative of Committee on development of business and the consumer market of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Syndicate of Fashion - SPbFW passes within actions of the city project "St. Petersburg-intellectual Center of the Russian Design" and costs in a calendar of Committee on culture of St. Petersburg and in an official calendar of events of Committee on youth policy.
Expanding geography of participants, SPbFW expands also geography of cooperation with the leading world mass media. Thanks to effective cooperation of Committee on development of tourism of St. Petersburg and the St. Petersburg Syndicate of Fashion already the second season is organized a press tour for the international mass media which purpose to present to a pool of the international journalists not only work of the Russian designers on a professional podium of St.Petersburg Fashion Week, but also to acquaint them with cultural heritage of St. Petersburg that positively affects image of the city as to the cultural capital of Russia. Action will be visited by editors of the leading fashion-editions among which there is Elle Hong Kong, A Shaded View On Fashion, ZOO Magazine, Modern Weekly, Eclectic magazine, Vogue talents.
