Premiere in Music Hall.

Photo by D. Ptitsyn, Interpress. The theatre presents the opera "Masquerade" based on Mikhail Lermontov's drama today. The idea of the play belongs to the theatre's Chief Director Lev Rakhlin. The director made a rather bold decision by moving the setting of the play from early 19th to early 20th century. Chief Stage Designer of St. Petersburg's Musorgsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Vyacheslav Okunev created an original stage solution, which allows the plot to take part in a pavillion, as well as on St. Petersburg city streets and squares, all at the same time.
