Galina Sidorenko, a Mariinsky Theatre soloist, won the second place at the International Vocalist Competition that adjourned yesterday in Oslo. Norwegian singer Marita Kvarving Selberg took the first prize. Galina Sidorenko said that she's "very glad to take part in this prestigious contest, in which 50 representatives from 16 countries performed". She hopes to continue collaborating with European philharmonic orchestras and theatres. The singer was born in Kuban and studied in St. Petersburg - in music school, college, conservatory.
