Spiders in the Hermitage.
This is the first time that the famous master's works are exhibited in Russia. 25 sculptures and more than 200 hundred drawings will be displayed, including 3 huge bronze spiders that symbolize later ideology of the master. Researchers call work of Louise Bourjois who turns 90 in December 2001, an encyclopedia of modern art: it reflects all the main directions of XX century art – cubism, abstractionism, futurism, surrealism, constructivism. Louise calls herself " a collector of spaces and memories". She started her art work in 1936, but achieved fame only in 1960s. An International symposium on her works will be held in the Hermitage October 11.
