The military - historical library of armed Forces of Russia prepares to celebrate 190-years anniversary. It was created according to the order of prince P.M.Volkonsky October, 22(on old style), 1811. The first books for the new library were bought on officers' donations. History of one of the oldest russian military libraries is set of bright and tragical pages, but its employees always fairly served fatherland, in every possible way promoting development of military - historical science. Recenty the library has actively put into preparation for celebrating a 300-anniversary of our city, selecting the materials connected with St. Petersburg's role in a military history of Russia.
