"St. Petersburg Ontology" is the name of a new exhibition of the well-known Petersburg artist Vyacheslav Mikhailov. It will open November, 16 in the Central Exhibition Hall Building.
The artist is trying to conceive the existence of our specific city philosophically, to comprehend a mystery of its beauty and mystical charm.
The exposition displays 50 canvases lately created by the artist. His works do not dispose to calm contemplation and esthetical pleasure. "Why do you paint monsters? - the painter was asked once. - Are people so ugly?". "I don't paint from life. If I depicted real people, they would be much uglier", - he answered.
