Gavrilinsky Festival to be held in St. Petersburg.

The main event of 2001 Festival is a tour of the Big Symphonic Orchestra named after P.I. Chaykovsky directed by the national artist of the USSR Vladimir Fedoseev.

During the festival the St. Petersburg publishing house "Composer" will present the first volume of the complete set of Valery Gavrilin works titled “Chimes”. Also the opening of a memorial board will take place.

Valery Gavrilin is the author of some large works: chorus symphony-action “Chimes”, vocal and symphonic works “War Letters”, “The Earth”, “Skomorokhs”, vocal cycles “A Russian Notebook”, “Seasons”, ballet “Anjuta”, music for films and performances. Works of Gavrilin form one of the most outstanding pages in Russian cultural heritage.
