Today St. Petersburg starts celebrating the 100-year anniversary since the birthday of the great tragic actor Nikolay Simonov.
A dirge was served by his tomb at the Volkovskoye Cemetery. At 1 p.m. an exhibition dedicated to the jubilee was opened in the Theatrical library. Here you can see paintings and costumes of the famous actor. Besides, a scientific conference dedicated to the actor is held today in the Tzar foyer of the Aleksandrinsky Theatre, and after that a memorial evening.
