The annual “account” exhibition of St. Petersburg's painters “Petersburg-2001” opens in "Manezh" Central Exhibition Hall on January 8.
“Petersburg” is one of the most popular art exhibitions of the city, the most large-scale by the number of participants (this time more than 500) and directions. The spectre of exhibition's art styles is extremely wide – from a traditional academic school to the newest trends in art.
The exposition of photography “Petersburg in “Petersburg” is presented as “inner” exhibition. The Exhibitions has the following sections: “Festive Petersburg”, “Undercover Petersburg”, “Petersburgers (well-known people and types of city-dwellers)”, “Events”, “Mystical Petersburg”.
For the first time a new section, “Petersburg's Guests”, is included, which is planned to become traditional in the future. This section comprises works of artists of various Russian towns and other countries. The first “guest” exhibition presents works of eight Israel artists.
The program of “Petersburg” exhibition includes:
- children's festival with a musical and theatrical program, creativity stations;
- performance;
- video program;
- poetry day;
- computer presentation and scientific conference on modern art.
The exhibition lasts till January 30.
