The film festival dedicated to the 20th anniversary since the death of the genius German producer Rainier Werner Fassbinder who has epatered Germany and Europe with his creativity for good ten years, starts on February 6, in the House of Cinema on Karavannaya Str., 12.
Petersburgers will be able to familiarize themselves with producer's creativity during the whole year. The program is divided into thematic blocks; films of every block will be demonstrated during a month. Themes of some blocks are planned to be considered more thorough at seminars organized by authors of the project. A round-table discussion, “Fassbinder Today” is also envisaged. A booklet comprising unique materials about Fassbinder's life and creative development is to be issued.
At the end of the program an exhibition, following the Berlin one of 1992 by its concept, will be held. It is dedicated to Fassbinder's days in Berlin.
The authors of the project are the St. Petersburg Cinema Museum and the Goethe Institute in St. Petersburg.
