The exhibition displays more than fifty works of art by modern Cuban artists, including paintings, objects and mixed media. While some of the artists are already familiar to art connoisseurs from the Ludwig Museum in the Russian Museum (Luis Gómez Armenteros and Belkis Ayón Manso), most are exhibited in Russia for the first time. The show is curated by the Ludwig Forum of International Art (Aachen), Ludwig Fundación de Cuba (Havanna) and the Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation (Cologne).
