The fifth international ballet competition Vaganova Prix opened in the Academy of Russian Ballet named after Vaganova.

The festival is held from June 19 through 26. The participants of the competition are senior students of the choreographic schools from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Perm, Novosibirsk, Voronezh, Krasnoyarsk, Kazan, Saratov, Ufa, Armenia, Kazakhstan, the Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Estonia, Brazil, Hungary, Italy, Poland, the USA, South Korea and Japan.
