From July 4 through to 13 July covering St. Petersburg and its suburbs an outstanding International festival of folklore Blues under the name “The Neva River’s Delta” is on.
This festival takes place in our city for the second time. The idea to call it “The Neva River’s Delta” means to follow genre history, from early blues to their popular, modern representation. Basically blues was found on the Mississipi delta. This festival’s novelty is the opening of new concert stages in 9 cities of the St. Petersburg region - in Priozersk, Vyborg, Vsevolozhsk, Kingisep, Kirishi, Tosno, Luga, Vyritza, Staraya Ladoga. As well, in the framework of the festival there is a 1,729 km motor race taking place connecting the above counted cities. Blues men of Russia, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Holland and USA are the performers of the festival. Jury will assess them by nominations of acoustics
blues, instrumental blues, classic blues, the one of academic music, that of jazz and the blues in modern Russian folklore.
13 July will be the final meaning Gala-concert in the Yusupovsky Garden.
