The exhibition devoted to questions of sexism opens In Petersburg gallery “Borey" from October, 30 till November, 1 the action-exhibition "Sexism non stop? Humiliation of Women in culture, advertising and consciousness" will be held. Its basic purpose - to help all to understand and to feel deeply depth and breadth of sexism (sex discrimination).

"The Sexism in mass media is the widespread phenomenon and sometimes runing to extremes. Our journalism is unhealthy and its condition, first of all, is connected to absence of concept of "norm", - Olga Lipovskaja, the chairman of the Petersburg Centre of the gender problems, has told at the press conference devoted to the beginning of the action.

In the framework of the exhibition in gallery "Borey" various films, photos, examples from printed press, illustrating discrimination of women and men in the Russian mass-media will be shown. Also the the action "Why the cucumber is better than the man?" will be held .

Besides by results of a toss-up the "Sexist ¹1 in Russia" will be announced. While there are four applicants for this rank: telejournalists Alexander Gordon and Igor Fight, the deputy of the State Duma from LDPR party Alexey Mitrofanov and presenter of the program "Windows" Dmitry Nagiev.
