Exotic castles, mysterious transparent figures, unusual ice sculptured figures will grow on the beach of the Peter and Paul Fortress. Fifteen teams will participate in the festival, including the winners of the world championships. Ice sculptures from the United States of America, the Netherlands, Japan, Canada, Finland, France, Italy, Czechia, Latvia, Poland, Germany, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Yakutia were invited.
The organizers of the festival are St. Petersburg Fund of City Museum and the Association of the Sculptors of Russia dealing with snow, ice and sand compositions.
The competition will become the first project of this type in St. Petersburg. The subject of the competition is also a unique one which is related to the St. Petersburg 300th anniversary: ‘The reflection of the city images of different countries in the sculpture’. The estimation of the works presented in the festival and the winners’ determination will hold the jury of the festival, including the consuls general of the participating countries, captains of the teams, and the representatives of the St. Petersburg Administration.
