Italy has prepared series of presents for St. Petersburg’s anniversary. In particular, Italian specialists will restore the pylons-guardrooms of Strelninsky palace-and-park ensemble, the works there are already underway. Also planned, Italy’s participation in restoration of the seven halls of the State Hermitage and Rafael’s masterpiece Madonna Connestabile; conducting the international soccer tournaments with a participation of the leading European teams. In addition, the Italian party has proposed to include the participation of Luciano Pavarotti in the gala concert, due to take place in St. Petersburg on May 30; and also organize the summer tour of La Scala Opera Theater headed by Riccardo Mutti.
