The British Council presents the world premiere of a new exhibition of video art in St Petersburg as part of the UK@SPb programme. Electric Earth runs from 7 March for a month at the Marble Palace of the State Russian Museum.
Electric Earth examines themes of alternative ways of living and systems of belief.
A sequel to the popular Black-Box Recorder video exhibition, Electric Earth journeys through the landscape of corporate commerce, fashion, youth and club culture, psychological rehabilitation, religious faith, dead-end employment and the interconnected information flow of the 21st century city experience.
Artists represented in Electric Earth: Mark Leckey, Mark Titchner, Carey Young, Luke Fowler, Torsten Lauschmann, Oliver Payne and Nick Relph, Wolfgang Tillmans, Stephen Sutcliffe, Rob Kennedy, Paul Rooney, Hilary Lloyd, Jeremy Deller and Alan Kane, Adam Chodzko, Volker Eichelmann and Roland Rust, Szuper Gallery
